With a large Prime Contractor led S1000D project, equipment supplier are often required to simply issue their operation and maintenance manuals as S1000D compliant Data Modules (DM) for inclusion in the larger Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP).
However, this isn’t always the case. For example, if an equipment supplier is providing a piece of equipment that is "fleet wide", then it can’t always assume every operator will have an IETP. Sometimes the equipment supplier will be required to issue their S1000D compliant operation and maintenance manuals as a standalone publication.

If you need to create a standalone PDF publication from your S1000D source data then our Docuneering S1000D Publication Builder can do just that!
Create a Publication Module (PM) to list all of your Data Modules (DM), define the publication structure and then simply pass this PM file to our Publication Builder.
In the Civil Aviation sector, the adoption of S1000D has been controlled with the ATA Spec 1000BR specification. The spec defines exactly how a CMP PDF output should be formatted.
Docuneering have enhanced their S1000D Print & Publishing solutions to include an ATA CMP builder. This takes a standard S1000D PM and converts it into an ATA CMP.
Also in the Civil Aviation sector, Docuneering have created CSL-FO stylesheets for the Airplane Flight Manual which fully comply with GAMA Spec No. 1.
The Publication Module (PM) is constructed to the Sections of the AFM and Data Modules are inserted inline to create the content.
As well as our "simple" Data Module print stylesheets and our "full-fat" S1000D Publication Builder, we also have a few options for the Authoring process. Whether you’re working with S1000D Legacy SGML source data or you need "XML Web Author" capability, at Docuneering, we have a solution to meet your requirements.
